Revised Photomontage

I changed the ending scenes (Easter) and tried a new approach with the gate. The overall look is more consistent and I am pleased. More Coming Soon...

My Machine

My invented machine captures the attention of a man by using monatary values on a keypadded door. Once he pushes the button of his choice, he is bound by rope and a piece of thread attaches to one of his teeth, yanking it out (rope & thread come from door knob). The tooth travels through a maze and finally is realeased into the air. Depending on what button he pushed, that is the amount of teeth that will float in the air until they fall on a tree. This tree disolves the teeth and money appears. itz a Money tree

Machine Artist

Leonardo de Vinci produced some of the most basic machines during his time. "He reasoned that by understanding how each separate machine part worked, he could modify them and combine them in different ways to improve existing machines or create inventions no one had ever seen before."

Semester Research & Photomontge

My research topic in Motion Graphics 1, dealt with the term camouflage. After, revisiting the word list of metaphors, I wanted
to find some way of reappropiating this idea. I thought about how camouflage is a fictional depiction, concealing reality. My
final project for that course was “Camouflaged Beauty,” a piece that took a step-by-step approach, as to what is natural vs. unnatural. I layered make-up onto my face, becoming a fictional being. Using my childhood instinct, I would like to discover fictional cultural traditions; we surround ourselves with in today’s society.

A fiction is described as an imaginative form of storytelling, usually including a plot, setting, theme, and characters. This expressive body of culture exists in several forms: novels, short stories, fables, fairy tales, plays, and poems. Fictions are often perpetuated by parents out of traditions such as Santa Claus or to instill beliefs and values. My goal for this semester is to embark on a journey of defining characteristic of humanity, by creating fictions as an aspect of human culture. By telling stories that a culture believes to be true, I will enhance this interpretation of these events by creating humorous motion fictions.

My first project is a photomontage, in which I collected several images that relate to ideas I have for the semester. This montage has a mass quantity of holiday related themes such as Halloween, Christmas, Easter, and the Tooth Fairy. This assignment was a review of the transformation properties within After Effects. Illustrating the direction my research will focus on for this semester, I wanted to explore abstractional, informal techniques of creating art.

Intervene Film Revised

Using Mac the Ripper & MPEG Stream Clip, i tried the Paint & Masking tool on a video clip. I LOVED the Masking tool, yet found the painting tool somewhat difficult. I've never used a video clip in AE, so learning how it works in the program (along with paint) will require extra work on my part. The task is to INTERVENE, on a video clip of my choice!

So, i finally choose this movie clip in which a female was falsely accused of murder. My goal was to establish the idea of isolation & idenity.

Courses Technical Focus

~Parenting

~Audio (settings & features)

~Film Strips (I wanna do more, like last semester)

~3-D Objects...function...

~How to Select Certain parts of a chapter in MPEG

~Use of Text in films

~How to Code Video as a Internet Source

My goal for this semester is to figure out different ways of creating interesting videos, by using found materials. Narratives, poetic expression, text & still photos, instructional films, etc. My AE videos are usually cartoonish, maybe taking a different approach by trying new effects & being open to new ideas.
