Revised Treatment for Final Project

TITLE
A Urban Alphabet Booklet

CONCEPT/STORY
My idea for the final feeds from a resource I found on the Internet called the urban dictionary. This dictionary transforms the English language into slang terminology and defines each word and/or phrase. Using the alphabet, I will incorporate this dictionary as an introduction to understanding slang and how it relates to society. As well as visuals, I will form short sentences to illustrate the words usage in conversation. This form of language would be considered unsuitable for formal context, yet appropriate in certain areas in cities. I will use shape layer solids as a separation tool to reveal portions of the composition, until the entirety is made visible. This hidden alphabet book will be very formal in its presentation and overall design. It will also be HILARIOUS!!!

SOUNDTRACK
I thought about using hip-hop beats or music in this piece, however I would not want the audio to become a distraction from the visuals. I believe the visuals are strong enough and audio would only complicate the piece. But it’s a debate??

TREATMENT
This book is basically a moving picture. The books cover will appear on screen, then beginning with A, each letter will produce a word. The page will turn and the words slang definition will be revealed, along with its usage and illustration. This process will begin with A and end with Z.
